Nick Place, the Dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UGA, On the Damage from Hurricane Helene

As the Dean and Director of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UGA, Nick Place knows the impact that Hurricane Helene has had on farmers in Georgia and on our agriculture industry. He and other agriculture leaders are closely monitoring the aftermath to assess the full extent of the damage. It may take months for us to know the true figures. He already knows that the damage is extensive and unprecendented.

Farmers need our help now more than ever. Please consider a donation to the relief fund for farmers, so that they can rebuild and we can keep our agriculture industry strong in this state. We depend on farmers for access to local food and fiber. Let’s help protect that access and preserve an industry that is vital to our economy.
